THE ROUTE
The OR Tambo Heritage Route falls within the Mbizana Municipality - which covers an area of approximately 2 806 square kilometres in the north eastern part of the Eastern Cape, bordering KwaZulu-Natal. Its jurisdiction stretches along the famous Wild Coast, from the Mtamvuna to the Mtentu Rivers. Its population is estimated at 235 326. The seat of the municipality is the town of Mbizana, which is located along the R61, 55 km north of the Umtamvuna River.
The municipality is committed to unifying its people for the provision of sustainable and affordable service delivery and building a people-driven economy to fight poverty.
